PUPPY PRE-SCHOOL

Puppy preschool is a great way to get your puppy socialised with other pups and people in a safe, friendly, controlled environment.

We cover important training principles and skills as you and your puppy learn basic commands.

‚Äč

At the end of the 4 -week course you will be well on your way to having a well-behaved, stable and social pup, who will be a well-adjusted and delightful member of your family.

During the course we will focus on:

Socialisation:

Your pup will learn to play with other dogs and people that are not part of the normal family group. This will allow your pup to develop the confidence to cope with new situations and stimuli. You will also learn how to read your pup’s and other dog’s body language to allow you to get a better understanding of your pup’s feelings, needs and wants.

Basic training:

Your pup will learn basic commands such as sit, mat training, lay down, walking on a loose lead, stay and recall skills, so your pup will be a well-behaved member of the family at all times.

General health:

We will discuss vaccinations, flea, tick and worm prevention, grooming, microchipping, de-sexing as well as getting your pup use to coming to the vet for health checks.

Understanding your pup’s behaviour:

Dogs make lovely pets, but in order to prevent problems later in life we need to understand how their social structure, natural behaviours and learning phases relate to human society. With some simple tips, you will be able to avoid many behavioural problems and understand how to prevent them.

Graduation:

At the completion of our 4-week Puppy Preschool, you will receive a certificate of completion and a graduation pack filled with goodies. Most importantly, you will have learnt new skills and begun the training that will last forever.

What you should bring to class:

  • Flat collar or harness and lead

  • Training treats e.g. liver treats

  • All members of your household who will be involved with your pup’s training are encouraged to attend.
